Interview quer-denken.tv | Karl Heinz Asenbaum and Yasin Akgün
What is special about hydrogen-rich, alkaline activated water?
Hydrogen is the fundamental currency of all energy processes in the body. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech in 1937, he expressed this view. Albert of Szent-Györgyi like this:
Our bodies really only know one fuel: hydrogen. Our food, carbohydrates, is essentially just a package of hydrogen, and the main event during its combustion is the release of hydrogen.
There is no simpler or better way to put it. Chemically it is very complex.
Karl Heinz Asenbaum and Yasin Akgün were interviewed for 50 minutes by Michael Vogt (www.querdenken.tv) in February 2016, however we have cut out the first 4 minutes, which were rather boring.
In my opinion it is one of our most important video contributions so far.
Thank you so much, dear Michael, it was wonderful.

Overview of interview topics
The nearly 50-minute conversation covers the most important aspects of hydrotherapy with electro-activated water.
Hydrogen as an energy carrier for life
As the quote from Nobel laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi illustrates, molecular hydrogen is the fundamental energy carrier of all biological processes. In this interview, Karl Heinz Asenbaum and Yasin Akgün explain why. alkaline active water What makes dissolved hydrogen so special is that it provides the body with this fuel in its purest, most bioavailable form.
What is electro-activated water?
Electroactivated water is produced by Electrolysis — a process in which ordinary tap water is separated into two fractions in an electrolysis cell:
- Alkaline activated water (catholyte): rich in dissolved molecular hydrogen, with a negative redox potential (ORP) and a pH value between 8,5 and 10
- Acidic oxide water (anolyte): with positive ORP, useful for disinfection and Equipment care
The crucial difference to simple alkaline water: Electroactivated water contains dissolved molecular hydrogen, which acts as a strong, selective antioxidant.
The role of Karl Heinz Asenbaum
Karl Heinz Asenbaum is one of the leading European water researchers and author of the standard work. Electro-activated waterIn the interview, he shares his decades of research experience and explains the scientific principles in an understandable way. Further interviews with Asenbaum can be found at [link to interviews]. Interview with Uwe Karstädt and in the History of alkaline activated water.
Water ionizers — the technology behind them
Yasin Akgün, founder of Aquacentre since 2007, which is what a good water ionizer arrives. Important factors are:
- Quality and area of the Electrode plates
- Filter technology and filter media
- Flow rate and hydrogen concentration
- Longevity and ease of maintenance
Hydrogenated water in everyday life
In addition to permanently installed water ionizers Are there also portable solutions like the available today? Aquavolta H2 Turbo Booster, which produces hydrogen-rich water on the go. For beginners, it offers H2 effervescent tablets an easy start.

Frequently asked questions about the topic
What is the difference between alkaline water and hydrogen water?
Alkaline water simply has an elevated pH value. Hydrogen water It also contains dissolved molecular hydrogen, which acts as a selective antioxidant. Electro-activated water from a water ionizer combines both: an alkaline pH value AND dissolved hydrogen. Learn more: What is alkaline water?
How much hydrogen does electroactivated water contain?
Depending on the device and settings between 400 and 1.600 ppb (parts per billion) dissolved hydrogen. High-quality devices such as the H2 turbo booster They reach peak values. The minimum therapeutic concentration is often stated as 500 ppb in research.
Is the effect of hydrogen-rich water scientifically proven?
Since the groundbreaking study by Ohsawa et al. (2007) Over 1.000 scientific studies on molecular hydrogen have been published worldwide in Nature Medicine. The research covers areas such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and metabolic processes. Leading research institutes such as the Molecular Hydrogen Institute (MHI) document the current state of research.
