How does the regenerative braking system work?

Regenerative braking recharges the battery as soon as you slow the board down. Examples include braking to stop, braking downhill, or braking while reversing. Simply coasting without using the trigger does not recharge the battery.

Slow, steady braking recovers more energy than fast, hard braking over the same distance. However, coasting with the trigger released is more energy-efficient than frequently using regenerative braking. Pushing off with your foot and then slowly accelerating with the trigger also saves more energy than accelerating from a standstill using only the motors.
