I find it really exciting. But I can't find any adequate studies on this, only reports. Hydrogen is a high-energy molecule that does not occur freely in the cell for precisely this reason. It only gets into the mitochondria via NADH through shuttle systems, which are also precisely regulated. And of course also to avoid the oxyhydrogen reaction that would occur if molecular hydrogen came together with molecular oxygen (hence, among other things, the enzyme chain on the inner mitochondrial membrane). Molecular hydrogen is a not unproblematic substance because it could pass through all membranes without restriction and would disrupt a whole series of finely regulated processes.
Studies that would not only show precise measurements of redox values, ATP, acid values, electron transport, but also electron microscopic images of mitochondria under such influences would be interesting.
