Simple drinking water filters
First of all: In order to transform your tap water into optimized drinking water, You don't have to recycle all of your cold water. It is sufficient if you treat the amount of water that you want to use for drinking and cooking, usually no more than 10 to 30 liters per day. Basic drinking water optimization occurs through filtration.
There are different filters for drinking water. But you always have to divert the water to be optimized from your water pipe.
pitcher filter
The easiest method is to pour the cold water from your tap into a jug filter and wait for it to run through.
Can filters reduce a variety of inorganic and organic pollutants in the water with a small replaceable cartridge filled with activated carbon and other filter materials.
Their disadvantage is the relatively open design, so that pollutants from the air can settle in it over time.

Although can filters usually look very similar, you should find out more about the actual pollutant retention values. Because there are big differences in the materials used. In the picture at the top right you can see the different filtration performance for the chemical methylene blue within 7 minutes for a BRITA® filter (left) and an Aquaphor® filter equipped with AQUALEN® filter medium (right).

Tabletop filter
Using a continuous water filter is more elegant, faster and more hygienic. For example, there are table-top devices that are tapped off at the tap. To assemble, simply unscrew the aerator sieve from the tap and mount the included diverter aerator instead.
